The Hope for Japan Campaign

We’ve responded in so many ways to the devastation in Japan – through prayers, donating funds, contacting friends, supporting loved ones... One Crossroader envisioned a way that those who are able to donate even a small amount can share their participation visibly with others.

The hope is that everyone will be encouraged to give – every amount helps! Donate $5 and receive a red & white wristband (the colors of the flag of Japan) with “Hope for Japan” on it.

All money goes immediately and directly to the relief in Japan from the earthquake and tsunami. (Angels have underwritten the cost of the wristbands, so 100% of what you give goes to relief from this disaster.) See Kaleo or ask in the church office for details and wristbands.

Always-generous Crossroaders have already donated in excess of $5,000.00 for relief efforts in response to the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disasters. You may continue to donate through the church by writing a check to “Church of the Crossroads” with “Japan Earthquake/Tsunami” in the memo line. Because the UCC uses OCWM (Our Church’s Wider Mission) basic support funds for personnel and handling of relief funds, every cent in designated giving goes directly to relief efforts.
